our vision

Our aim is to bridge the socio-economic gap between the Indigenous population of Collarenebri, NSW, Australia and the rest of the population of the township, and to also connect them with external services and supports outside of the town.  We hope to foster relationships with organisations that can increase the health literacy among the Aboriginal community of Collarenebri, as well as helping them gain knowledge and exposure in areas such as finance, business, project management, sport & entrepreneurship. We are also taking the initiative to revitalise our culture by becoming a hub for our community to preserve and practice our peoples language, art, dance & history.

OUR LOGO

The inspiration behind our logo was to create a representation of - not only an expression of our culture that captures the integrity of our people - but also our motives and aspirations for the future of our community and to inspire our next generations to overcome those oppressive hurdles that suppress our voices and discourage people from rural & remote communities to exercise their autonomy and truly practice their own self-determination.

We strive to be a pillar of the community, and to dismantle those socio-economic barriers; to be the voice our community needs whilst uplifting the disadvantaged, vulnerable populations of our area - e.g. youth, seniors/elders, single parents, and members of our community struggling with addiction, mental health and  institutionalisation. Our logo embodies the strength and unity of our community, whilst displaying our identity & amplifies the pride in which we conduct our business on a grassroots level, and by maintaining our sense of community.

We want to communicate the importance of identity, and the empowerment of First Nations people. And through highlighting the disadvantages our rural community faces and the challenges of living remotely, but by promoting change, and creating positive outlets, we can create pathways to overcome adversity by linking people with the necessary support and by using Colly Connected as the vehicle to do so.

Our logo is a reflection of our values, a glimpse of our vision and a statement
of our purpose.
